New Year’s Celebration In Honor of Hadley Alexander
The Hearts for Hadley New Year’s Eve Celebration welcomed in 2016 with fun, food and the legendary garage band Doon! The festive evening, held in honor of Hadley Alexander, included heavy appetizers, beer and wine and raised more than $3,150 which will help fund cystinosis research to make a difference in the lives of the children and adults with cystinosis.
When Hadley was diagnosed with Cystinosis on April 4th, 2012 at 18 months old, she had lost significant weight, stopped growing, and was behind in her gross motor skills. Upon diagnosis, she started an around the clock regimen of time-sensitive vitamins and medications which are administered through a g-tube every six hours.
Three years after diagnosis, Hadley is a thriving little girl with a passion for life. Her legs, once weakened with rickets, are now strong! She continues to grow and develop thanks to a good treatment and a new love for food. Hadley enjoys playing mama to her baby dolls, singing, dancing, and dressing up with her big sister, Stella. Despite regular blood draws and throwing up regularly from her medication, Hadley is filled with happiness and joy despite regular blood draws, multiple daily eye-drops and often getting sick from her medication. She steals the heart of everyone she meets!
Hadley is a fighter and doesn’t let her disease slow her down! With your support and donations to the Cystinosis Research Foundation, we are one step closer to realizing our dream of a cure!
Thank you for helping Hadley and the Cystinosis Research Foundation achieve its primary goal of finding better treatments and a cure for cystinosis. If you would like to make a donation to Hearts for Hadley you can visit her donation page here
