Q. Please tell us about the research that you’re conducting and how it affects the cystinosis community. How will this research benefit those who live with cystinosis?
A. We have generated a fruit fly model of cystinosis to better learn how cells cope with cystinosin deficiency. With this model, we expect to reach a better understanding of disease mechanisms. Eventually, this could lead to better treatment options.
Q. What drew you to this profession?
A. I have always had a sense of curiosity and an eagerness to understand. I believe it is these traits which led me to this profession.
Q. If you could have any super power, what would it be and why would you choose it?
