Marcu and Ben Alexander hosted their 5th Annual Hearts for Hadley Benefit on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Jack’s Urban Meeting Place, in Boise, Idaho.  Nearly 300 people attended the gala to honor 8-year-old Hadley Alexander.  The evening included drinks and appetizers while guests mingled and bid on over 30 silent-auction items, followed by dinner and a lively dessert auction.  At the end of the exciting evening, more than $105,000 had been raised for cystinosis research.  Thank you to the Alexander family and to the Boise community for their generous support for cystinosis research!
Hadley was diagnosed with cystinosis in April 2012 at 18 months of age. She had lost significant weight, stopped growing and was behind in her gross motor skills. Upon diagnosis, she started an around the clock regimen of time-sensitive vitamins and medications which are administered through a g-tube in her stomach.
Hadley is now a thriving little girl with a passion for life! She continues to grow and develop thanks to excellent medical treatment. Hadley is excited to begin kindergarten in the fall! She enjoys playing mama to her baby dolls, singing, dancing and playing with her big sister, Stella. Despite regular blood draws and tummy aches from her medication, Hadley is filled with happiness and has a wonderful attitude. She steals the heart of everyone she meets!
Hadley is a fighter and doesn’t let her disease slow her down. With your support and donations to the Cystinosis Research Foundation, we are one step closer to realizing our dream of a cure!
Thank you for helping Hadley and the Cystinosis Research Foundation achieve its primary goal of finding better treatments and a cure for cystinosis.
